I Got A Love That Keeps Me Waiting!

Hi There!

What’s up?

You all might be thinking why the weird title for the post? Allow me to explain. As you probably know during April I have be doing Camp NaNo and I have been thinking of my novel soundtrack and one track that fits well is this one:

Artist: The Black Keys

Song: Lonely Boy

It fits one of my characters really nicely. It speaks of the time when Aaron meets Emma for the first time (when she was alive) and how he ended up falling in love with her. He always waited patiently for her and this is the one girl he didn’t want to lose or hurt.

Aaron knew that Emma had ended her relationship with her ex-boyfriend, Kyle, because her father disapproved of the relationship and  she was pretty sad about it. Aaron was first her friend and became her support and he slowly started to love her in the process.

Somewhere deep down inside, even though Emma had started to love him too, he knew she still loved Kyle. Who can forget their first love?

When she started to move on with him, they were together for a whole year before he proposed to her. Obviously her father favored Aaron more than Kyle. Her father thought of him as more capable to look after his daughter after he died. Aaron is a young, handsome rich man who everyone likes and wants to be like.

That was just a little biography to Aaron. But all I can say is appearance’s can be deceiving, and that couldn’t be more true when it comes to Aaron.

Well your mama kept you but your daddy left you
And I should’ve done you just the same
But I came to love you
Am I born to bleed?

This part of the song fits Emma and Aaron perfectly. The only difference is that Emma never knew her mother and never had a mother’s love. Her father brought her up from birth. The closet to a mother she has ever experienced is her step mother and that is when her younger brother, Steve Beckett, is born.

The lyrics to this song are just really catchy and they are stuck in my head especially this bit:

Oh, oh-oh I got a love that keeps me waiting
Oh, oh-oh I got a love that keeps me waiting
I’m a lonely boy
I’m a lonely boy
Oh, oh-oh I got a love that keeps me waiting

Now you can see where I got the title from! The song is really enjoyable that I remember the lyrics and can terribly sing to it. This song made me forget that I can’t sing and it made me feel like I was someone else and I even have a little dance too!

Every time I hear this song I see my characters as if they are normal people going out and having a blast at some party. It is like my own music video for them and they seem to come out and play!

Overall I love this song and is one of my favorites 🙂

A New Direction

The last month I have been working on planning my novel. I have been doing this with a friend as we are both trying to motivate each other. When I think of idea’s/scenes/and characters they are very basic ideas with not much thought to extend it further. But when I hear instrumental music or classical music I find that these same idea’s/scenes/ and characters are actually more than just basic. I start to turn those basic ideas into small scenes and it is like watching a movie and those ideas are extended.

So the story I am writing is one that I had started writing a little over a year ago, but never completed as I ended up getting writer’s block. Last month this idea came and hit me again and decided I’m going to change it and take it into a different direction. Before it was a paranormal romance now I’m changing the direction towards friendship. I just feel that every time I try to write a paranormal romance I can never complete it, it is like a strange block. Yet I read the genre a lot. Well anyway the point is that I wanted to try something different.

The music that has been helping me the most is actually “The Dark Knight Rises” movie soundtrack, well to be honest one track which has helped considerably, “No Stone unturned”

Do you find that music helps when it comes to planning a novel or thinking of ideas?

The one thing I really like about Hans Zimmer and his music is that it truly captures you and takes you onto a journey.

This tune, especially during the last couple of days has really helped to fill in the blanks in my planning, and ordering everything around so the story makes sense. So I guess music is a big aid!

If you find that music is a big aid for you as well, what track really helps you? 🙂

Song of The Day: Watch Over You – Alter Bridge

Today’s Song of The Day is:

Watch Over You by Alter Bridge

When I was listening to a suggestion provided by a friend today, I also found a tune by Alter Bridge known as Wonderful Life, which I enjoyed so much. Then I remembered that the first tune I heard of this band was this song.

At the time of hearing this song, I was writing a story that had a love triangle in it. Basically this song fitted well with the main character and the best friend who loves her. But it turns out she loves someone else. The best friend has always been there for the main character ever since primary school. He was basically her rock and support when things got rough. A part of him wanted to leave but decides against it.

I have to say the singers voice is absolutely amazing.

I hope you enjoy this song!
